Ulead Video Studio 8.0 problem

I have just began using Ulead 8.0 (have previously used UVS 6)
I have captured footage from a VHS tape using a video converter via USB. When I try to add the clip to the timeline I get a message saying the contents of the files are unreadable.

The project on the time line appears as a long black and white rectangle and only the sound plays.

Any suggestions please?

Please read the following and see if it provides any answers. If not, please provide us with details, such as what type of capture hardware/software you are using, etc.

I've altered a few settings and now its working.
