Post by chuckpie »

My VS x2 splash screen opens, I click in editor, the new splash screen opens followed by the user interface, after a short time the program closes. What is the problem???

I Can't

The program will not let me do anything. The program interface with the splash screen just close after about 10 to 15 seconds.

Do you have the trial version or did you purchase?

If purchased, was it the download or boxed version?

Have you tried to repair/reinstall?

Boxed

Post by chuckpie »

The version is a boxed upgrade. I have removed and reinstalled. The funny thing it worked the last time I used it and now I have this problem. I did the upgrade from version 11.5. Another thing is with version 12 installed version 11.5 does the same thing, however when I remove version 12 then version 11.5 works. Driving me nuts!! Thanks for anyone's help that may have had this problem!!

What happens if you remove both versions, then install only v12?

Another thing you can try, since it did work at one time, is a System Restore.

No Luck Jeff

I tried both of those solutions this morning with no success. I have VS 12 at work also, so I am going to poke around the common files and see if they match what I have at home. I plan to uninstall version 10 that is on my home computer and reinstall all versions to see if I have a corrupted file some where. The only software changes I have had is the automatic update from Microsoft. I guess it is possible that somehow over wrote something. I post the answer when I have one. Thanks Jeff

Still the same problem!!

Post by chuckpie »

I cannot believe I am the only one who has had this problem. It may indeed be a problem with my computer, however that does not explain why version 11.5 runs fine as long as I remove X2. Since X2 tries to start but closes after several seconds it seems it is looking for a missing file. The real strange part is I purchased a full boxed version because I thought the problem could be with my upgrade version, however the same problem. All my other programs run fine. Need Help Still!!!!!!! :x

You haven't told us anything about your computer or the operating system. But if it is Vista, try right clicking on the X2 icon, and choose 'run as administrator'... though I should note that this is only a wild guess as X2 should normally open ... well, normally!
