Thanks Steve I will try it but I need to purchase urgently as I have to deliver a wedding video I shot this week. I found this: http://www.animationsforvideo.com/html/ ... e_vol3.htm
but I am not sure if its going to work on my VideoStudio x2.

What I didn't understand is this:
From EasyPalette, double-click or drag a selected mask or image to the workspace. Save the file in BMP format.
What is EasyPalette?

Those look like some real nice wedding animations. If it comes with a program to produce them, or if they are just a collection of video files they should work with VS. Digital Juice.com did have some Wedding themes, however I just checked and found that the wedding "jump-backs" are sold out.

What Steve was referring to is the EasyPalette in PhotoImpact.

What the specs says for those trabsistions is this:
"Realtime DV compressed AVI and MOV, Targa image sequences with alpha channel, QT PNG with alpha, Chroma-Key green AVIs (NTSC or PAL)"

How will they work on VS? Where do you put these files?

Those "Transitions" are not transitions as such, they are short videos.
To use them as transitions you would need to join their video to your own with......

a transition! (probably a cross fade)
alternatively you would have to place your own clips butt ended on the VideoStudio time line, their wedding transition clip on an overlay track and then do a bit of chroma keying - bit laborious just to achieve a transition if you ask me.

If you notice in my previous post I did not refer to those as transitions, but animations. As Steve pointed out you will need to use one of those clips, between 2 of your clips, creating the transition. Simply put a transition is just a smooth change from one clip to the next.

Probably included in one of those wedding packages are clips that are specifically designed to be used for transitioning. There are various types of transitions, from hard-cuts, to soft-wipes, and bumpers.

If you're up against a deadline, then you will probably need to purchase a package like those. However with a little time, and practice you could actually create your own, just using your camcorder, or a camera, and VS. Then taking it a bit further, maybe a 3D program, or something like PhotoImpact.

I use both one of Ulead's programs, Cool 3D Production Studio, and a third party application, Bluff Titler for 3D Titling effects.

In the Tutorial the Steve pointed out there was this step:

"In VideoStudio, switch to the Effect Step and then select Mask C"

Now in VideoStudio x2 what transition corresponds to "Mask C" ?

I purchased several of the video hotcakes dating back to VideoStudio 9 and they are wonderful.

Some of them are "transitions" and some are short video clips and they come in Standard Screen and Widescreen and "yes" they work with VS 12 or should I say X2 Pro. I love them and if you join the website, you will receive discounts on others. Hope this helps!

I use Digital Juice all the time. Jumpbacks do come with transitions, although you don't put them between clips like VS transitions. You put them on an overlay track, overlapping the 2 clips. They already have an alpha channel so no chroma-keying is necessary.

Unfortunately the Wedding Jumpback has been discontinued. It has been replaced by Editor's Themekits. Click HERE and watch the sample video. Themekits 5, 12 & 18 are wedding related.

and how do you install the transitions? In what directory do you install them. Do they appear then inside VS in the "Effect" stage together with the other transitions?

They must be used in an other video track. When available the alpha channel is used. So they are not native Videostudio transitions.
