Confused on how to copy transitions to pro x2

I've printed out your instructions for copying transitions into prox2.
I've got the same problem no album effects and only 2 mask.
When I go to the 12\vfx_plug it shows that the album is in there but it does not come up in the Libary as a choice of effects. {when I run the program}
I purchased the upgrade as I am now only running VS9 which has the album transitions in it and many mask options.
In your post you say to rename the 12vfxplug to 12vxfplugx2.
Then copy old vfxplug and paste to 12vfxplug but you've only ready renamed it so I'm lost.
Can some one help me out

Toad,
I had the same problem, once I updated Microsoft Directx the problems went away. Have you done that?
I just then copied the new transitions to the transition folder
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 12\vfx_plug
and they work fine.
Thanks

BEFORE you copy transitions from a previous version you MUST run VideoStudio at least once to prime the various libraries.
Then you can close VideoStudio, copy the transitions and other material from previous versions and then open VideoStudio again.
Now it will add the extra transitions to the primed libraries.
If you have copied the transitions over before you opened VideoStudio for the very first time then you need to remove ALL the transitions.
Delete the library files (You find their locations
here). Run the VideoStudio installation program again and select the "Repair" option to restore the original transitions you deleted above.
Alternatively if you followed my suggestion of renaming the original folder containing your VFX or VFT files then simply restore them from that folder (Which is your backup)
1. Before you copy any transitions from the older vfx_plug directory - rename the existing one.
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 12\vfx_plug
rename to
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 12\vfx_plug_X2
Now proceed as I stated at the start of this post. Open VideoStudio to prime the libraries, close VideoStudio. Copy the other stuff over then open VideoStudio again.
I have now edited the procedure to include this important step.
Thank you

I had open Video Studio Pro x2 after installing to check and see what was there and was disapointed in what I didn't find.
I was confused on doing your step instructions and I might have messed up because it didn't seem to work.
Should I uninstall and try again
I really appreciate the help. I've been using Vs since 2005 and really enjoy working with it.
Thanks again

Just a quick note, I had not installed or copied my Burger's transitions or FX Bench video filters to VS 12 until reading this thread. The transtions went without problems. However FX Bench took copy/pasting 3x to get VS12 to recognize it. For me on my XP machine, just pasting the FX video filter file over itself in the vft_plug folder, 3 times worked.

I am at my workplace at the moment so might not be able to give a step by step until sitting at my own machine.
In the meantime I need you to click here --->

I want to apolize for wasting your time.
We figured out where we went wrong upon reinstalling the program.
When asked to type in serial number of program owned we typed in an activation number we where given because there was no serial number on the boxed upgrade.

We should have typed in the serial number from VS9 that we own.
Long story short it's fixed and I thank everyone for their help.
Down here we call it a {Brain Fart} or a Senior Moment.
Thank again
