I can see the problem now. Can see it on straight cuts as well. Don't have to burn a disc easily noticeable on computer. I suppose for the moment the only ways around this problem is 1/ transcode to HD mpeg. 2/ Change editing programs.

I think corel has really dropped the ball here. Both VS11.5 & VS12 where both advertised that they could edit HD, but clearly cannot. Maybe a good case for consumer affairs. mmm I think I will contact them this week.

it looks we have to focus on some competitive video editing software as Corel's promises to solve our problems are not realized...

I'm bumping this thread up for those who were following this thread and haven't noticed a recent separate thread in which Corel has asked for clips from the various camcorders that are having the problem with video distortions or blips when using transitions:

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?t=35106

They have indicated a willingness to work on this problem but they need our help by supplying clips for them to try.

It is Corel's quick way of dismissing the problem. If you contact camcorder manufacturer he will say VS12 is faulty. The blame game goes on always, and, we the customer are left in the lurch.
Thank god we have a nice forum with lot of good and helpful people.

How is asking for sample clips to help solve the problem a way of dismissing the problem? :?

I'll just add that when Corel does ask or request such, it shows that they are in fact interested in the problem, and are trying to find a fix for it. When you get the standard "reinstall" reply is when they seem to be dismissing it.

So if asked to provide sample clips please do so, because on their end they must not be able to reproduce it. When they can see the problems, and how or what is causing it, they can then work on a fix..

babdi, I believe they are sincere in wanting to investigate this problem.

After all the discussion and frustration expressed here in this long thread, I thought more people would respond now that we finally have Corel's attention and have the possibility of getting the problem solved. Maybe those who had the problem earlier haven't seen the request yet (it was only posted 3 days ago).

I told Corel support that many Canon and Sony users were having the problem, not just me. If the only clips they get are the Sony SR-11 clips I uploaded, I suspect they will conclude that it is not a common problem and not worth spending valuable software developer time to try to solve.

dalemccl, maybe you should go thru the thread and email or PM all those that were affected to make them aware of Corel's intentions.

I was saying we get more help & support in this forum than Corel itself.
Yes, if more people speak up , here and to Corel they have to find a fix.
It also depends on how effectively the customer puts forward the problem and how much doggedly he peruses with Corel.

Good idea! I checked profiles and no one involved in the discussion listed their e-mail addresses, but I will send PM's to them.

I agree with you that this forum is usually more help than Corel. I got lucky when I submitted my problem and got a tech support rep who is more interested in solving problems than dismissing them like many reps do. I did have to "doggedly pursue" the issue with several follow ups to their original response to get to this point though.

I've found a great way to edit HF100 material with transitions and titles while preserving quality. See post #3087 here:

I've noticed the same bug with rendering HF100 material to standard DVD format. Frames after transition go like ABABCD instead of ABCDEF.
Of course, I have also sent Corel a little remainder.

Agree, I've also seen this with rendering AVCHD to standard DVD with my Sony clips. In addition I recently discovered that doing a "Batch Conversion" of raw, unedited AVCHD clips to 720x480 mpeg results in the same ABABCD glitch, but it occurs right at the end of the clip in the last few frames. So the bug is not only related to transitions and titles, it seems to occur just about anytime X2 renders AVCHD.

I reported the batch conversion problem to Corel last week and suggested that the problem is related to the older problem report about the same "blips" with transitions and titles. They replied today saying they forwarded the additional information about these blips to the Customer Support Services Manager, and said they were still collecting customer comments and feedback about the original blip problem.

I know several people have uploaded sample files to their ftp site, so hopefully that gives them enough information to diagnose and fix the problem.

The 'blip' issue is not just AVCHD, I have the same thing with my TOD file (PAL HDMV format) from my JVC camcorder.
