[quote="2Dogs"]Hi Przemek,

do your mates call you Prz for short?

Thanks - I will give it another try. After the converstation with the Tech Support (definitely somewhere in India) I started looking for a Mac... The answer I got I simply did not expect.

My friends call me anything from Shamois to Sham, and Shammy  It is a short - you do not want to know my full name...

I wonder, which camcorders are officially supported by Corel and where this info is written ?
The old Ulead website used to have a list. I don't know if that still exists on Corel's site.

Yeah, my dad's name was Sava - and his work mates in England couldn't handle it, and used to call him "Sam".

My name, on the other hand, is Dragan - so I had all sorts of nicknames going thru school in England, until a bank once wrote to me as Dr. Agan, which has stuck with most of the people I work with......

Przemek wrote:Hi everybody,

I've just spoken to Corel customer support. All thay could tell me was that there must be something wrong with the avchd codec used by my camera - HF100, and since this camera is not supported by COREL X2, I need to buy different software. That is really helpful and now there is nothing left, but to look for different software.

Does anyone have the same problem but uses a different camera supported officially by COREL (not HF100)?

The guy went through his notes and looked at the correspondence with me and without hesitation said "your camera is not supported" - thank you very much. I asked what it meant exactly and he said "contact Canon and ask them which software you can use). There was no mention of any kind of patch...

now what to do? canon will tell you that you have with hf100 Pixela ImageMixer which is really nice soft...

I can use CVS12 only w/o transitions (with smart render) or use competitive product e.g. premiere elements 7, power director 7. These programs work ok but have no smart render

Has anyone else with this problem tried Ken's finding that if you put the clips, with transitions, on an overlay track the distortion does not occur?

I tried that yesterday, but the result is a bit inconclusive. I put about 2 minutes of video with transitions - first it had to be done directly on the timeline and then copied (CTR+A and then drag+drop) into the overlay track (with Preferences set to 100% size). There seems to be a smaller, but still noticable distortion in case of two transitions, and none (I think) after one. Need to check how I edited it in the original project - must have done something differently. I will try it with a bit longer video and more different transitions and will let you know.

Oh, ok. I was just wondering since nobody else had mentioned any success/failure with Ken's discovery.

Yes! I demand that posters be more methodical with their problems!

Glad you jumped in with that one, Jeff - I was itching to ask the same question.

HI again,
I've just tried again to make an AVCHD disk with the video with transitions being placed on the overlay track. Unfortunately I do not have good news. As I wrote yesterday, my first trial was a bit inconclusive - some transitions were without distortion and some still caused this annoying delay in the next frame. Yesterday I made another film and the result was exactly the same. What is more interesting, I joined exactly same scenes with the same transition twice and in the first one there was a visible glitch and the other one was smooth. It seems that the appearance of those glitches is just random and I have no idea what it depends on.

Przemek,

Some idea:
Try to make AVCHD file (not disk) or BD disk and check is the result the same (witch glitches).

Well, creating an AVCHD file and BR file were the first two things I tried (in fact the two files were of the same format - extension ?!). Unfortunately, the glitches were still there :( , so it doesn't seem that buying a Blu-ray burner would solve the "glitch problem" for me...
