I am used that when you have an official support forum the company also participates in the discussions.
All the members and participants in this forum are volunteer members, we are all the same apart from our depth of knowledge. The long and often highly technical responses that we oftimes get are from our volanteer membership. As far as I am aware there are no Corel Technical staff who are members of this forum. It is administaered and run the members.

There are some Corel staff that visit from time to time, but certainly do not participate on a regular basis.

This forum is not an "official support forum". As it says at the top, it is a User to User Web Board.

Nevertheless, even if this only a "User to User" board. It still contains valuable information for product development. As a company I would monitor and where needed use this board to improve my product.

It seems Corel doesn't share my opinion. :(

We understand they do keep track of the Wish List for the next version sticky post at the top of this Video Studio forum... which is why it is a sticky...

Exactly. They do monitor, but don't necessarily participate.

When a new version is released I always close the existing wish list and start a new one. The first time I did so I got an email from Corel asking me where the old list was located! Yes they do monitor this particular thread.

No news on the transition blip bug?

Post by markguitre »

Distortion 'blip' after inserted transitions. How long has it been since this
bug was noted by users and reported to Corel? One year?
No fixes, no patches, no updates after all this time? Only another version of Video Studio coming replete with new bugs to nest together with the
old ones? Anyone know of any progress on this issue?

I'm sure any progress would have been widely reported.

So, VS PR0 X3 is the long-awaited fix to address major bugs
found in VS PRO X2. These bugs include the loss of music, titles,
overlays, after inserting a new transition in the storyboard view;
and the infamous "transition blip" artifact.
I've been waiting over a year to get these issues resolved.
Instead of correcting problems with patches, Corel now glibly offers
a new version of VS which we are invited to purchase to get relief.
Similarly, VS PRO X4 will probably serve as the "patch" for any problems
in VS PRO X 3.
Is there any outrage out there, or is it just me?

It's not just you.

Corel should give this 'fix' for free to the users with these problems.
But they cunningly crapped X3 so much, that I am not sure if I would accept the offer anyway.

Pay for bugfix! Must be the worst software support I've seen since.. since ever.

Frankly, I wonder why all these people, board mods included, readily laid out bucks for something so much screwed, KNOWING about X3 problems.

Maybe because most people don't suffer from these so-called bugs. AVCHD clips were tested during X3 beta and there were no problems. I, for one, have never had any of the other problems noted by markguitre. The only problem of note during X3 beta was the burning module. A fix is being worked on.

Bug is not a less-bug if it is not present in all circumstances/under all configurations. Repairing X2 was Corel's duty (they say they offer support), not good will. I would promptly accept offer for refund for X2.

Exactly. That's why I wonder most. They saw this crap, they knew it, still they decided to support company with their money.
A fix is being worked on.
Except the module shouldn't be there, not at such level of design. It hadn't been known in advance that a fix would be announced. Hopefully it will be something usable, but I'd not bet on that.

That is actually a good idea! But it it seems the option to send mail to Corel support has disappeared from Status of My Questions tab???
