Problem of interlacing!

Post by Mark! »

In English!
Sorry if I speak Italian, but I can¡¦t write in English so I use the google translator although it translates badly.
I have a problem with corel video studio X2 that before I hadn¡¦t with Ulead Video Studio 11.5. Practically I import in the project interlaced Mpeg-2 Video (first upper field), as final result I would like had a progressive Mpeg-2 file. I had always set the project on Mpeg-2, frame type: frame based.
I have never had problems because program automatically converted video from interlaced to progressive, on a progressive project (frame based) without using filters for de-interlacing, although it lost some quality.

I tried the same identical processings with the new Corel Videostudio X2 getting a bad video, where you can remark annoying lines of inverted fields!

I ask you help on resolving this problem!
Thank you a lot in advance!

Grazie mille in anticipo!

Welcome to the forums! And I have to say, I am fairly impressed by the pretty accurate English from Google!

Can you please right click on the file produced in VS X2 and copy ALL its properties here please. Does it, for instance, show 'campo superiore" or "basata su fotogramma"?

Hi Mark,

sorry to hear you're having problems!

All of your video file properties look normal. I would guess your source footage is from a hard drive or miniDVD camcorder.

Help us to help you by editing your user profile, adding your PC details, and maybe put your camcorder model in your signature too. It will save time in the long run, since you won't have to enter those details in any of your future posts.

I'm still using VS11.5, but hope that the following procedure works in X2.

You might try inserting one of the video clips into a new, empty project. When you are prompted to match the project properties to that of the first clip, click on the "Yes" button.

Then click on "File>Project Properties" and in the resulting "Project Properties" window that pops up, click on the "Edit" button. This will bring up the "Project Options" window. Click on the "General" tab of that window, and change "Upper Field First" to "Frame Based". (though of course it will be the Italian version of those and my Italian is limited to ordering beer and telling people to carry things and work faster!)

Then check the output quality when you use "Share>Create video File>Same as Project Settings".

It's essentially the same as you have been trying already, but it may just be that you have inadvertently altered some other settings. The procedure above should change just the fileld order.

Good luck!

Hello, I have always used the steps I have described above you.

With Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 Plus I never had problems, changing the order to get good field de-interlace video ..

now with corel VS 12 using the same procedure I get a video disturbed as when I used other programs to video if not de-interlace filter with internal program.

I looked at the link, however, are solutions for those who captures video directly from corel.
I was not acquired by corel, only amount of video recorded from television, why are interlaced.
An example of video that amount is this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AA35OWE4

(because you can help me solve)

How did you capture your video?
What was the programme that you used?
How was the TV connected to the computer?

No, I have the video recorded by a TV on DVD. Then the file VTS recording them I converted with Nero 8 in MPEG-2 format.
To me concerns that convert interlaced video from above (Upper Field First) to progressive (frame based) ..
First with VS 11.5 enough to open the project based on frame and then export it, now with VS X2 does not work ..
how do I do?

(Sorry for the bad translation) :(

I assume this was a dvd recorder connected to the tv.
I have found the way these record quite often presents problems.

May I ask why you want it to be frame based?
What is wrong with sticking to 50i?

Yes, I recorded with a DVD recorder normare connected to the TV.
I would like to convert to frame based, because my videos are intended to be viewed on a PC monitor, if I leave them interlaced in all respects and movements you see the odious orrizzontali lines.
