Does VStudio Pro X2 support VC-1?

Post by mirwais »

Hello, I'm trying to import some videos extracted from blu-ray movies into vstudiopro x2, but it won't let me, the videos are either in their original format m2ts, or demuxed to vc1 video with TSMuxer and other tools, but doesn't work.
I wanna know if the program supports VC-1 videos, or if it supports them but just not at blu-ray high bitrate.
thankss

According to Corel's System Requirements for VS ProX2:
Input File Forumats wrote: Input File Format Support

* Video: AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, HDV, AVCHD, M2T, MPEG-4, H.264, QuickTime, Windows Media Format, DVR-MS, MOD (JVC MOD File Format), M2TS, TOD, BDMV, 3GPP, 3GPP2
* Audio: Dolby Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, MP3, MPA, QuickTime, WAV, Windows Media Format
* Images: BMP, CLP, CUR, EPS, FAX, FPX, GIF87a, ICO, IFF, IMG, JP2, JPC, JPG, PCD, PCT, PCX, PIC, PNG, PSD, PXR, RAS, SCT, SHG, TGA, TIF/TIFF, UFO, UFP, WMF
* Disc: DVD, Video CD (VCD), Super Video CD (SVCD)
It should allow M2TS, I'm not familiar with VC-1 so can't comment on that. Is the source Blu-Ray disc home-made or commercial? It also does not mention Blu-Ray Disc, so trying to insert or extract directly from the disc would not work.

Ok done a quick read on VC-1, and yes VS Pro does support most of the VC-1 standard, (h.263, h.264 AVCHD..).

Hello, thanks for your response.
The videos i'm trying to import are from commercial blu-rays, not home-made, I've only tried with 2 movies. I have ripped the to the hard drive with AnydvdHD (I think that's what it's called), and it rips the folder structure and all the videos, and the videos are m2ts, if I try to import them to Vs 11.5 Plus or Vs X2 (both of them bought full version, not trials), the info tab on the 'open video' window stays greyed out, when I select the m2ts and it can't import them, I've tried renaming the videos to every file extension possible :P but it doesn't work.
Here's the info I get from MediaInfo on one video: VC-1 (Advanced@3)
15.7 Mbps (maybe it's too high for VS to handle?), AC-3 6 channel, 1920/1080 23.976fps. (Tried importing to VS with 23.97fps and converted to 29.97 with TSMuxer, either way they won't import)
The other video is same codec: VC-1 (Advanced@3) but doesn't say Mbps, and the audio is PCM, says PCM (Big/Signed), and the fps are 29.970, the video is 1080i from what the backcover says, the other video is 1080p.
Like I said on my previous post, I've demuxed the files and came out vc1 file extension for video, both of them, can't import vc1 extension in VS, imported to TS, M2TS and Blu-ray with TSMuxer, none of them work
Anyone been able to??
Thankss :o
