Problem: UVS9, Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 Windows 2000

Post by GeorgeK »

Hi,

Does anyone else run UVS9 on Windows 2000? And have you allowed Windows Update to install Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1?

I did and after this UVS9 terminates every time I attempt to capture DV or analog video.

The problem does not happen the first time I run UVS9 just after it is installed, but every subsequent time I run UVS9.

My initial solution was simple, reinstlall Windows 2000, install all other Windows Updates except for Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1, and then install UVS9 (and other applications that I use.

UVS8 worked perfectly with Video Capture.

However has anyone else has UVS9 and Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 ?

Thanks,

George.
