Background Remover Plug-in

Post by posnpretty »

I just installed the Background Remover 3 plug-in from ImageSkill. It was included on my PSP X2 Ultimate DVD.

Just wondering if anyone here has used this plug-in, and what you think about it. What's the difference between this plug-in, and the built-in background eraser tool in X2?

Thanks,
Cyndi

Well I have used it somewhat. But not enough to get use to it. Essentially you draw a line through the object and the colors you want to keep. And then you draw a line around the object on the colors you don't want to keep. And you use either the magic wand tool or the fill tool to get rid of the background colors specified. It's a lot faster and in some cases a lot more accurate for removing the background than the eraser tool but it takes some getting use to. I'd suggest looking at ImageSkill's website it's got a nice tutorial on there.

I mean this is also a plug-in used by photoshop users so it has to have some quality to it. I just can't get use to it myself.

Thanks, LeviFiction! I understand about getting used to a new tool. I'm just learning how to use PSP myself. I've tried the background eraser, but it's so tedious. I'm hoping the plug-in will be more efficient, once I learn how to use it.

I have to agree that the plugin (which I have only tested using the trial version of it from the developer's site, as I don't have PSP Ultimate) may have its uses for some, but I find the native PSP BG Eraser easier to use.
