as I'm shooting mostly home videos, it is very important for me to keep the date/time at the time of shooting for reference in the future. Can video studio X2 transfer the date/time code from the AVCHD camcorder (.MTS files) to burn on DVD/blu ray? thanks very much..

Sorry for the delay in getting any responses. I don't have a camcorder that uses the AVCHD codec, however I don't think that VS is capable of this. The only codec that I'm aware of VS will display the Date/Time Stamp is DV (avi).

thanks for your response. so far my search over the net does not show that any program can extract date/time code from HDV/ACVHD like the DV format... a little disappointment.

HDVSplit as its name implies, only works with HDV format, but works well. And yes, you can set the capture to include the date and time the video was taken in the name of the file, but not in the file itself. That is in a separate coded stream which a program like VS cannot extract. I cannot say if there is a program similar to that which works with AVCHD...
