Hi, Newbie here
i've searched the archive and found similar problems but no answer
On a new installation of Vista Home Premium SP1 and VS11.5+ i have installed the latest Community DivX codec (6.8.4). THe install didi not throw any errors.
The DivX codec does not appear when i try to Share/Export the file all i get is the default installed codecs
None
DV Video Encoder Type1
DV Video Encoder TYpe2
MJPEG Compressor
The DivX Converter and DivXPlayer both work, but if I look at the Help/ Technical Information in the Windows Media Player there are no DivX codecs registered (and WMP will not play divx files)
I know some of you have Vista HP and VS11.5+ running with DivX so i guess it may be versions or something, or maybe doesn't like Quad Core Processor
Any help is much appreciated

Please look at one of the Sticky posts on this Board, up towards the top. It relates specifically to this problem: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 279#167279

Hi Ken, Wow quick reply
The link you posted seems to refer to VS12 I am using 11.5+ and it does not have any DivX_ul files in the installation directory.

Sorry, but I assumed -- wrongly -- it would work on VS11.5+ too. But I have just looked at my VS11.5+, and it does not have that DivX_ul.dll file as you say. In fact, searching my computer, the only other versions of that same file that I could find were in Movie Factory 6 and its BurnNow module. Interestingly enough, though, my VS11.5+ no longer shows the older VS DivX codec (version 5.1.1) and only the current 6.8.4 version. It used to have both.
If you have MF6 on your computer, you might want to do a computer search for DivX_ul and if you find it, use the same method outlined in that thread, and see if it changes things in VS11.5. It just might work since these programs tend to use shared codecs... But of course, make sure you don't delete the DivX_ul file, in case things don't work. Just rename it.

Please try the following.
1. Close VideoStudio 11
2. Locate the following directory
C:\Users\stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0.
and rename it to
C:\Users\stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0 backup.
3. Restart VideoStudio. Check to see if it now recognises DivX (6.8.4)
If this does not work you can reverse the above be deleting the newly created directory
C:\Users\stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0.
and reverting
C:\Users\stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0 backup.
back to its original name.
