Will problems never cease?

I'm using PhotoImpact 10 and 7. I have to use 7 because the graphics tablet has issues with 10 where every time I touch the pen down, it puts a blot of "ink" the full size of my brush before responding correctly by being pressure sensitive.

Also, every now and then, it gets stuck where I try to select a color on the screen, but it won't respond until I hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE. When I do, the color I selected will show as the foreground color and if I then change back to the PI window, it works fine until I need to choose a color from the screen again.

Lastly, it's been a while, but this problem has finally resurfaced and affects both of my programs. When I select a color from the screen, the color that is selected is significantly lighter than the one I pointed at. Same color, just lighter.

Anyone else every have these issues and, more importantly, figured out how to fix them?
