Response to Steve Jones' email

Post by TBoyd »

Thank you for contacting me, as I had almost forgotten about this valuable forum!

My wife & I currently live in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. We've been here for over 6 years since retiring from BellSouth Telecommunications (now AT&T) & moving from Atlanta, Ga.

I am a wedding photographer here & have shot about 400 - 500 weddings so far. We also own & operate a luxury vacation suite in St. Thomas.

I am a non-conformist - I don't use Photoshop! I have been using Corel PhotoPaint from version 6 & am now using X3.

I have been trying to get accustomed to Paint Shop Pro, as it functions quite differently from PP X3, but there are certain features that I like about it, such as being able to crop & maintain a selected aspect ratio while resizing the crop mask. It would be great if PP had this option. I don't know if it was added to X4. -Or maybe I've missed a technique for doing this vs. typing in the dimensions of the crop mask. After all these years I often feel that I'm still just scratching the surface of the capabilities of PP.

Very embarrassed !

In my previous post I mentioned not being able to maintain an aspect ratio while cropping in PP. After all these years I found that if I just place the crop to the borders of the image & drag the corner, the aspect ratio is maintained.

Over the years, I've learned a vast amount of photo editing techniques through using PP. It's amazing how we sometimes overlook some of the simplest things!

Please don't write me off as a total dolt!
