VS Pro X2 crashes with HDV file

I have noticed the following issues while doing some editing with VS Pro X2. I have captured a 1 hour HDV tape from my Canon HV20 camcorder. I then did Multi-trims on this larger clip to end up with about 50 short clips on the timeline. Observed issues are:
1. Every time I jog to the 59-minute point in the 1 hour clip, VS crashes. This is in the Multi-trim tool.
2. For the last 5 clips at the end of the timeline, the thumbnails in the Storyboard View are black and when I play the project, the video in the preview window is black but the audio is fine. When I play back those clips in the Multi-trim tool, however, or if I play the clip (only) in the main preview window, they are fine. (Also, the other 45 mini clips are fine when played back, the problem is only with these 5 clips.)
What is interesting to me is that if I save the project as a VS 11 file format, and open that project file in VS 11.5, everything works fine. All clips play back properly, and VS doesn¡¦t crash at any point in my 1 hour captured clip.
Anybody else experiencing something similar?
