to text or not to text...that is the question

Post by lakewud »

I have my dvd cover almost complete....happy with results..even if PI 11 has been a bit of a...***** to say the least..latest being 'low memory' cropping up..however...

I want to add text to my cover..boy! is it sloooow..anything over a couple of lines almost jams up on me...now, im not asking anything of it....arial, no shadow...etc....( used on top of my dvd cover..but also, closed down application etc..and thought id try to see how fast it would be it i was just doing text and nothing else...same problems..slow...text taking age to appear..and wanting to alter it etc...bording on impossible...talking a paragraph of text here - not an opening title etc.

So, any thoughts, any best solutions? all i want is some decent looking text on the back of my dvd cover.

You don't provide us with any information on how much RAM you have.

What else do you have running in the background when using PI?

Creating text, adding textures and fills always takes up lots of memory so it's a good idea to give PI all the dedicated memory you can. Start with your text relatively small and when complete, enlarge to the size you require.
