I have enjoyed using DVD movie workshop but my final projects have beautiful menus but the final shows themselves are very disappointing.
When played in a DVD player there are epsiodes of sticking or jamming during the show. I have noticed that these are happening when the show is changing from one file (title) on the play list to the next.
jamming during show as titles on playlist change
I take it that it works fine on the computer? Have you tried it on more than one make of player? The most probable cause may be because the player has difficulty with the particular DVD medium used. Many players prefer DVD-R over DVD+R and vice versa. Then, even within either -R or +R, not all media are created equal and some cheapo discs may not provide sufficient contrast between the 1s and 0s to operate reliably. Finally, not all burners are equal, either.

A small pause
It's common to have a small "pause" between titles on a DVD, and how long that pause is will depend on the player and media (as mentioned). But if it's just a slight pause, then the only thing to get rid of that is to have one long clip (instead of separate titles). This will play smoothly, but you might not be able to play a particular title and return to a menu (if you combine your titles).

A small pause would be acceptable but I seem to be getting quite long jarring that is very disrupting.
How do you manage to have one long clip with a very, very big project or how do you combine the clip if it has divided itself during importing?
However if you are using the menu to go to selected scenes then you need to chop your final project into smaller titles. This means that the Play all titles option cannot be in one single piece. If it was possible to make a single combined piece then I suppose the way around this would be to have these files on twice as separate titles, making the final project much larger.
I have tried several different machines and the problem happens on all of them but it does not seem to happen when the discs are being played on the on the computer. I will try using better quality DVD's as suggested.

I have tried using the better quality DVD's and while this makes the problem better it is still there.
The obvious solution is the single file and using chapters and not titles for the seperate scenes. This may be the solution.
The problem is that when I import a large single file produced on my DVD recorder with auotmatic chaptering switched off- Movie Workshop still chops it up into smaller titles. Is there any way I can switch this off?

That's how it imports...
Unfortunately, that's how DWS2 imports from DVD.
Ulead enhanced the import function in their later (perhaps upcoming) versions of software. For instance, their recent releases of VideoStudio 9.0 and DVD MovieFactory 4.0 give you the option of importing Titles as one large mpeg, or as separate scenes.
Perhaps you could download the Trial of DVD MovieFactory 4 -- at least you will be able to import during the 30-day Trial (and you get to see some of the new features in DVD MovieFactory 4).
