No sound when exporting/burning
Hi -- I am having an issue where I import a captured video file from my hard drive, trim it, then try to export it as a DVD Compliant Video and there is no sound in the exported file. Same thing happens when I burn it to disc. There is something about these captured files that is problematic because I have done exports of many other files and had no problem. I've also done exports of captured files before with no problem. It has audio in DVD MovieFactory, just not when exported or burnt to disc. Any ideas?

Well there might be an idea or two floating around. However we're not going to reveal our little secrets, until you reveal yours...
Sorry but that's the Rules.
What is this "specific/particular file" ? We need to know the properties of it......specific video file from my hard drive...this particular file...

Ha ha, ok. Not doing anything secretive here, just trying to convert some old home movies of my brother and I from VHS to DVD to give to my parents.
OK, so here's the deal:
--When I import a chapter from a DVD into DVD Movie Factory, then trim it and export/burn it, there is no problem.
--When I import a file that I captured from VHS using my Pinnacle capture devide and Pinnacle Studio, then when I export/burn it, there is no audio. It's not just one file, it's any file that I capture in this way and then try to export/burn.
This is particularly distressing because I was capturing VHS videos with this device, trimming them in DVD Movie Factory, and exporting/burning with no problem whatsoever until now. The only thing that has changed since when it was working and now is this: for some reason, about a week ago, whenever I clicked on pretty much any movie file, it wouldn't open in Windows Media Player anymore, even ones that I had previously opened with no problem. No idea why that occured. I did some googling and ended up downloading the "K-Lite Codec Pack" which solved the problem (I don't really know what that program does). But since this new "no audio" problem started occurring, I uninstalled the K-Lite Codec Pack. The files that wouldn't open before, but opened with the K-Lite Codec Pack, open once again without the K-Lite Codec Pack. But I still have the "no audio" problem with the captured files.
Help!
Thanks!

I was able to get it to work by re-capturing the video as an MPEG 1/2 file instead of an AVI file. However, there is some quality loss (not that noticeable, I can live with it), and more importantly, now when I export, the last second or two of the exported/burned video freezes thoug the audio keeps going. It's really annoying, as it's an obvious freeze.
I posted a separate message about the video freeze. I don't really care if I capture in AVI or MPEG 1/2, I just want it to work! If capturing in AVI, then I want there to be audio! If capturing in MPEG 1/2, I don't want the freeze at the end! Are these things too much to ask??
