Private messages

After loggin in at the top of the screen, right next to PROFILE, I see a text link informing me that I have 1 new message. When I click on that link I find:

"Private messaging has been disabled on this board."

I'm not expecting a private message so don't understand. Must be something simple I'm overlooking. My profile settings don't seem to conflict with this.

Yeah, it looks like they've disabled private messages. (I have sent / received tham in the past.)
