Hi all,
i have UVS8, and have put a music clip down and i have to place clips of images at certain intervals...the only way i can see how to do this involves constantly rendering the project to see if the project is successful..is this the way?
I created an introductory series of stills for a recent travel video, kind of a retrospective to give a sense of history. In the background was a music track. I set the duration of each still to two beats of the music and the effect was very nice. I didn't need to render to check it. I just played it. At points where one or the other got a little ahead, I would change the duration of the clip by 0.1 second or so, and that would bring things back into sync. It was fussy, but rendering didn't change what I had set.
I agree with kebrinton. At the end of our last travel video I did a kind of finale; the song "I Still Call Australia Home" (The old Qantas ad, for anyone who's heard it) accompanied by some of our own clips, some going back 10 years. Each clip lasted about 7 seconds; it was just a matter of previewing it (over and over....) to get the timing just right. Didn't have to render until it was finished.
well....
my nephew come over and could see my frustration....anyway, he figured a way out....go to the 'audio view' button below timeline
press the top reel with speaker and aleluya!!!
used the '+' to get within the smaller time frames and am getting instant playback feedback!!...playing project!
Rather then changing each clip to set the duration to match the audio you could also adjust the "speed" of the audio to match the project. You can usually slow the audio to add an extra 10-30 seconds to the project without noticing any change in the audio.
