Scripting and Plug-ins in Paint Shop Pro X2[Resolved]

Post by LeviFiction »

Hello all. As part of my learn something new every week policy I decided to learn about scripting and plugins in Paint Shop Pro. But I can't find many specifics for the python APIs in the help files. And for some reason I can no longer find the information in the knowledge base. I know it was there in when I got version X. So if it's there I'm just really bad at searching for things.

Along with learning scripting with Python I was curious as to how to make actual plugins for paint-shop-pro. Is this also done with python, or are there a whole new set of APIs for regular programming languages I need to find? I don't suppose anyone here is familiar with these things are you? Corel says that free tech support doesn't cover this inquiry so I'm hoping someone here knows.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.[/list]

You can find the most recent PSP Scripting API docs and various other bits'n'bobs on Corel's FTP server:

ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/documentation/PSP/

The scripting API docs may say they're for version XI but there's really no difference.

Awesome, thank you Alli. Still don't know why I found it impossible to locate but now I don't have to. Thanks again.

No probbo. Its location certainly isn't exactly highlighted. I had to rummage myself for quite some time to find it a while back and, so far as I can tell, there isn't a package of docs yet that specifically references PSPX2.

Can't help on the plugin-development side unfortunately though its worth noting that PSP is broadly compatible with Adobe Photoshop plugins, so there could be some value in researching PS plugin development.
