Video Tutorials
Yes, I have found the Ulead Video Tutiorials which can be downloaded or that come on some UVS disks a great help. I have not enjoyed most video based tutorials that I have seen, but Ulead's are great at taking you through the process.
Then Uleads web site has their "Learning Centre" which has some great info on Video formats etc. I have greatly appreciated these.
I very much recommend being patient at first, reading and understanding, testing and playing with Video Capture, transitions and especially with various output formats. It is all a new set of terms to learn, not difficult, just new.
I use PAL MPEG2 (or PAL DVD) which is 720x576, lower field first.
For me it did not matter if I used Variable or Constant bit rate. And as for the bit rate value, I use 6000 if I want to fit lots on one DVD and 8000 when size does not matter. I have not bothered two much with Audio settings, whether MEG2 or LPCM.
Remember if you take a snapshot or image from video, to have the preferneces setting for "Image Deinterlace" checked or your images will flicker. It took me a while and a little frustration to understand this.
Do enjoy, I have great fun with UVS and video editing.
