Registering VS X2

Sorry if this was covered before, but I couldn't find my answer in the search.....
I just received my X2 Upgrade

, and I sucessfully got the right serial numbers to install, so the installation went smoothly.
My question is, do I need to register X2 if I'm already registered with VS 11 Plus? When I clicked the "Register Now" button and entered the upgrade serial number, it came back with the error in red, claiming, "Sorry, we are unable to register your product for one of the following reasons:
- The serial number is incorrect
- This is a legacy product and we no longer support its registration"
What gives? Thanks in advance!

I was able to register my X2 upgrade without any problems. It seems odd it let you install but not register. I would contact Corel.

Thanks gugonz,
Just submitted my question- anybody have an idea how long a response takes, on the average?
***EDIT***
Strike the last question- an e-mail was sent saying to allow 24-72 hours.....

I have had this very same problem. X2 Ultimate upgrade installs and works fine, but I get the same message when trying to register it. I emailed support and they just advised to register it in the normal way.
Contacted their Sydney office by phone and was transferred thru to Manila, Philippines. The guy I spoke to was most helpful. He has advised that he has registered my product for me, but although the product shows up in my account (it has done since it was shipped to me from Taiwan) the serial number does not. I am advised that Corel is looking into some sort of problem with my account.
I am very happy with the service so far and will await further developments.

I appreciate your help, but what do you mean by "register in the normal way"? I'm already registered for VS 11 Plus, so either I can or can't register for VS X2, right?

I assumed registering the "normal way" meant thru the website, but that's essentially where the program sends you anyway.
FWIW, I got the same error message as you. Then I went to View Your Products and, lo and behold, my X2 was on the list.

Corel have been experiencing some problems with their registration database system and are working on it.

So that means it is ok to buy upgrade online and do the registration

Registration does not affect the operation of the program, in any case.

Just to update- I sent an e-mail regarding this to Corel's customer support and received this back two days later:

Dear Steven,
Thank you for your e-mail. Yes, it is recommended that you register your purchased product to be eligible for free technical support via e-mail.
Meanwhile, I already register your serial number for you.
To verify the registration, please log on to your Corel account and proceed to "View your Products" page.
Regards,
Allan

Checked under my products and VS X2, including my serial number, is there. Easy and painless, just the way I like it!

hrpufnstuf65,
Pleased you have your Rego problem all sorted out.
I am still waiting for my Serial Number to appear on my account. As already indicated X2 Ultimate Upgrade does show in my account, but then again it has done since the day the product was shipped to me. I did not do have to do anything, it just appeared.
This was not as a result of my Corel contact in Manila. Time to speak with him again me thinks.

That's OK -- I had the same problem when I installed Corel/Ulead WinDVD 9 a couple of months ago. I registered, and got the message that it was either invalid or a legacy product. So I contact Corel, and they told me about the problems with their registration program. They also told me that I was shown as registered at their end, but it still does not show when I go into my own account... Ditto with DVD Copy 6...

I just installed PRO X2 and when it came up with register it directed me to the Ulead site. When I entered my serial number it said that it was for a legacy product. had to laugh.......
