Capture from MiniDV (Sony TRV27) is Dark

Is there an option to brighten other than the auto enhancement? The capture from my camcorder was dark, even though it plays at the correct brightness levels on TV and on the camcorder screen. I'm connecting using a fire wire. thanks.

DV video tends to appear darker on your computer monitor. I've noticed this as well, but it usually looks fine when played back on a TV.

In NTSC Land, there's also an issue of "Setup", but if it's fine when you playback on your TV, then you shouldn't adjust it to be brighter because it might look "washed out" when viewing on a TV.
