1. Please do not use large, coloured type faces: they are not as readable as the standard one, which I'll restore
2. Please read and comply with the Announcement: PLEASE READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING!!! (modified) at the top of this board.
3. MSP8 does not have a direct swf input as standard. Workaround: download and install the free SUPER software and convert the swf to an MSP8-compatible format, e.g., DV, first.

kherbetawy,
MSP 8 should read / play swf files fine. Look in your sample/video directory with in your MSP8 programs file group & you'll find several swf files. This is especially true if you have the Smart Compositor Template pack.
Here's a link to posting in this forum that helped me when MSP 8 started to act up with swf files...
The file that is missing is, "flash.ocx". It seems that when updateing your flash player some times this file will get replaced. The link above should help you locate a copy of the missing file as well as tell you specifically where it needs to be placed in order to make MSP8 read / play swf files. PM me if you have trouble locating the "flash.ocx" file. I'll e-mail it to you.

i googled the file and downloaded it and pasted it and it worked after renaming the new file with the existing file name
