Most codec packs allow individual file choice, though I can't say I know the package you mention. The usual pain is that when you open the package for installation, usually even codec in the pack is ticked. But there is usually, somewhere on the control page, a master box where you can un-tick everything, then go through to find the codec in question.
Is that NVidia codec a commercial one i.e. which costs on the NVidia site? Otherwise, I would suggest you seek it directly from NVidia if it is a free codec.

In a sense, I would reverse your question by asking what you think you are doing by installing a mega-codec pack? It is the very wide opinion, not just of me or the others on this Board, but on many other Boards, that mega-codec packs are not particularly a great thing to install. If you are careful, and just install one or two specific codecs you are after, that is usually OK. But if you install the whole thing, they usually cause more trouble than they are worth. This is because they are compiled by people who think quantity beats quality, and just want to pile as many codecs as possible together, with no thought about the fact that many of them conflict with each other, not to mention with the other programs and codecs on your computer.
Anyway, that aside, if I could get a codec free from the website of the company that makes it (NVidia in this case) then I would ALWAYS go for this option over getting it from a codec pack. But if you have to use the codec pack, and you have scanned it for viruses, trojans, spyware etc first, then the codec would probably be the same -- and perform the same -- as that downloaded from the NVidia website.
