VS8 and VS10+ in the same PC?

Hi,

Pls i want to confirm the possibility of installing both VS8 & 10 plus in the same PC. I initially have VS10+ in one of my drives: when I needed a particular feature in VS8, I tried installing it in the same PC but the message comes up that a Ulead product is already installed in the same folder.

Will it work well if I decide to create another folder for VS8 in order to still install it in the same PC? Won't anything be lost?

Thx in advance

Yes you can. I have 10+ (for capturing) and X2 (for editing) on my machine. I just let them install to the default directories. Did you direct it to install somewhere other than the default?

At one time I had VS7, 8, 9 and 10 installed on one computer, and in the same drive, and in the same (default) 'Ulead Systems' folder -- each in its own default sub-folder... No problems.

See below for a list of various software ALL installed at the same time on the same computer!

... but on SmartSound Quicktrack

Thanks to all for this. I have seen that VS10, VS8, C3D, MSP8, etc can work perfectly together in the same drive.

Meanwhile, VS10 plus was already in my PC but while trying to install VS8, the SmartSound Quicktracks will not install correctly: it keeps showing error code with options [retry] [skip] [cancel]. I tried retry, no way thru. I tried skip, it continued to run but in the application, no Quicktrack will work.

On the installation folder, I allowed it to naturally run & install in default folder but along the line, it will prompt that it cannot continue to install because the folder already contained a Ulead product. I tried creating a new folder: it installed okay BUT the SmartSound Quicktracks is still as explained above.

Pls what can I do if I strongly want this SmartSound Quicktracks?

I think that you would need to install VS8 before installing VS10. There are significant changes in VS10.
If you don't have the install files or cds for VS10, I would not worry about installing VS8. VS10 is a much better version. I do have VS8 installed on my XP machine, just for the purpose of answering questions that may arise on this forum.

AS a matter of interest, what was the one feature of VS 8 which you wanted and which your thought VS 10 could not perform?

I'm trying out the options as suggested by all. The features I'm in need of in VS8 include some patricular still images which I'll like to use as jingle background.

But I've really seen the two (VS8 & 10+) working together: ONLY for the complication in SmartSound Quicktracks.
