Video jitters when playing dvd

I am using Video Studio 6 and added all the patches. I can capture the video perfectly using my Radeon card with analog input. I notice when the project is rendering it is not smooth, but somewhat jerky or grainy. After I burn the DVD, the play back is noticeably jittery on moving elements only. Stationary elements are picture perfect. Any ideas on why the DVD play jittering or jumping video on a moving object in the DVD play back mode.
