Post by KUMA-SON »

I'm sorry I looked around and could find anything on this topic.I'm using ulead video studio 9 and some files I try to use says "document bla bla file name" is not accessible?I tried changing the names, converting the files, and I have plenty of gb's so I don't know what the problem is.I would appreciate it so much if someone could help me :D Also the vids it won't take are mostly avi mpeg normal stuff ya know. Also I know this question has been posted and i'm going to look into that but some of my vids run real slow when I'm trying to edit them and some are fine any quick fix for that. Thanks alot guys anything I can do to compensate you I will, thanks agian.

If UVS claims that a file that clearly exists in the specified location is not accessible, the file is likely damaged, or the file header information doesn't match the contents. Another possibility for AVI files is that the audio or video codec that was used to encode the file is missing from your system.

Try using the "Insert Video" menu item, browse for the file, and then click on the "Info" button to display the file's properties. Highlight the entire thing, copy it to the clipboard, and post it here.

I appreciate any help I think this is what your talking about?

Properties:
file:"file name"
file format:Microsoft AVI Files
file size:335,409 kbytes
frame rate:29,970 frames/sec
duration:2657.691 seconds
data rate:125.47 kbps
Video:
compression:ffdshow MPEG-4 video decoder
attributes:24 bits , 512x384
total frames:79,651
Audio:
Compression:MPEG layer-3
attributes:128 kbits , 44,100 hz sterio
total samples: 117,185,590 samples

Also if it matters when I used ulead video studio 8 I didn't have this problem.

Do you have the ffdshow MPEG4 video codec and a MP3 audio codec on your system?

No, they are not standard, and without having the codecs on your system, you won't be able to play video encoded using them -- you will have to download and install them.

Good reply THoff, I too have had this issue. I have found that I get best results if I use UVS to do the capturing/creating of the video. If other packages have created the video (even package I have on my PC, and there for the correct codes should be present), the video and sound my be out of synd or other issues. I have put this down to the other packages did not create the video correctly (ie without errors) and that playing the video is not as demaning on "correctness" as is the need when pulling it apart for editing.

Your comments are welcome.
