Question Regarding VS X2 Upgrade

Post by hrpufnstuf65 »

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if anyone can answer this, but I figured I'll give it a whirl anyway.....

I just ordered the physical disc (Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 Upgrade (English) - Box) for $59.99 and FREE SHIPPING- a nice deal in my opinion.

Now, I have VS 11.5 PLUS running on my laptop, which I know should be a nice, clean upgrade. However, on my desktop, which is where I capture video (I use the Diamond video capture USB device: http://www.diamondmm.com/product_print. ... duct=VC500), I'm using the bundled VideoStudio 10 SE software that it came with, because VS 11.5+ wouldn't work with it.

So now, according to the below statement on the Corel website regarding this upgrade, my VS10 SE CAN be upgraded to VS X2 Pro.

Can it then be assumed that my USB capture device will now work with VSX2?

Thanks for any insight!

Probably not. Generally the SE versions that are bundled have been tweaked for the device they came with.

The good news is that you can install VS X2 and give it a shot anyway. VideoStudio does not overwrite or remove previous versions upon installation. Many users on the forum have two, three even four versions of VS happily co-existing on their computers.

If, as I suspect, VS X2 does not work with the device you can simply capture with VS10 then link the captured files to VS X2 from within VS X2 and off you go!

'Tis true. I will give it a shot, in that order. Thanks for the quick response- VideoStudio ROCKS!

Sorry, can't answer your question, but would you tell me where you got free shipping? I plan to order the upgrade soon and it is $9 for shipping on the Corel website. Thanks.

If you call their customer support to order, mention the FREE SHIPPING UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30. It was in an e-mail sent to me, but I've since deleted it. Hurry- you have 6 more days.....

Corel says that the free shipping is on orders over $99.

Did you just luck out by not spending 99 and getting free shipping on the upgrade?

I received an e-mail a week or so back saying "Last Chance For Free Shipping On VSX2". When I clicked the button for the physical upgrade in a box, when it took me to the checkout, there was no shipping fee attached, just the $59.99 total.

My guess is that Corel sent all of their registered users that e-mail, but you need to click that specific link to take advantage of it. If you just go to the website to order it, the link looks exact, but when you get to the checkout, the additional shipping charge for $9.00 shows up......
