i have made a movie about my two disabled sons doing a horsebackridingtherapy in barsingerhorn holland. this movie consist of several scenes of which none lasts longer than 1 minute or two so there are like 15 scenes to make up this movie .some i overlapped with effects some just follow eachother. when they do the music that i put under it gets a hick up when some scenes kick in the sound does stay synchronized though. this isnt very nice to watch.
i tried the corel advice of creating a video file and put it on the hard drive and then opening a new project and then enter the file and burn that and this works without the music problems however the qualitty of this copy is of lesser qualitty than the directely burned one which is more sharper of image and the video file seems a little vaque and less detailed as you should expect from a taped movie.
what can i do to eliminate the sound problem or how do i beef up the pic qualitty of the video create solution?
thanx for helping me out.
i work with windows xp on a dell pentium 4 with 3.4 megaherz speed and 2 g memory inside. sound is on board but a previous movie i made of 15 minutes doesnt seem to have this problem so it is perhaps not my soundcard.

Welcome to the forums!
First, your problem has nothing to do with your sound card.
But to move on to 'second' we need more information. What kind of camera are you using, and how are you capturing the video? Can you right click on one of the captured videos inside Video Studio, please, and copy all its properties here.
What editing are you doing to it? What is the format of the music you are adding? And you don't even tell us which version of Video Studio you are using!!
When you choose the option which works well, with no audio problems, what do you actually choose after Share > Create Video File? I suspect that your problem might come here. If, for instance, you are using a hard disk or mini DVD camera, then it would use a field order of Upper Field First. But if you chose Share > Create Video File > DVD, then the template for that is usually, by default, Lower Field First or even Frame Based. A central rule of video editing is that you always use the original Field Order throughout the entire project. So if you used the wrong field order, you would get very poor quality video... But I can only advise you on what your would more properly choose here once I know the format of the video you are editing.
reply to question what do you do/use...

well thanx for havin"me !
in reply to the questions you asked ken ,
the camara i use is two months old and its a sony dcr-sr36e hard disk drive camara (40 gig ) handycam .
the clips are via usb in mpeg format put directly into my pc which goes very quickly.
only editing in do is scene cut to right length and than put in time line with an occasionely effect in between and then i sometimes delete the clips original sound or decrease the volume . than i place under the movie some nice or funny pieces of music . i bought ulead video studio 11.
when i create a video file to store onto my hard drive i use the option ;
dvd/vcd/svcd/mpeg then i choose; dvd-ntsc (16;9)
save it to my hard drive /disk and than open video studio and open a new project and insert the video file and directly burn it.
the scene propertys are;
VIDEO; pal dvd
mpeg2 video
360 frames
24 bits 720x576 16;9
frame speed 25.000 frame /speed
variable bit speed (max 9100 kbps)
AUDIO dolby digital audio
tot samples 691.200
48000hz
no layer
bit speed 256 kbps
mind you this is the sum of a random scene right clicked on.
i hope this helps you in order to help me overcome my problems, thanx in advance ken !

And can you be more descriptive of your problem, rather than just saying a hiccup?

Ok just quickly, bedtime in Taiwan you know!
"sony dcr-sr36e" the e designates a PAL cam.
"when i create a video file to store onto my hard drive i use the option ;
dvd/vcd/svcd/mpeg then i choose; dvd-ntsc (16;9)" these are NTSC settings.
"frame speed 25.000 frame /speed" this is most likely the cause of the problem.
Your cam is recording at 25 frames per second for the PAL standard. You are choosing NTSC parameters which have a different frame size but more importantly a different frame rate 29.97 frames per second.
When you are choosing to create a new MPEG 2 file you are getting VS to "invent" 4.97 frames per second from nothing. You may have noticed that you are also getting slight jumpiness on panning shots or shots with motion.
Anyway, these gymnastics you are asking VS to do are not what it is designed to do and you are probably getting conflicts in the timecode of the video and the timecode of the audio...hiccups.
