Motion Menus
Motion Menus
I like Movie Factory but I hate the way the motion menus are. I like to have a motion background. But I don't like having the thumbnails moving too. I wish there was a way to just have a moving background. And still thumbnails. They should have that option. Nero does give that option. But I don' like Nero.
Hi. I know I can turn them off. But when I do that the background is turned off too. I want a motion background. But I want the thumbnails to be still. Do you understand? With both things moving it gets annoying. So I guess turn off the motion menu means turn off everything. They allow you to import a video for the background, such as for example snow falling. But you can only use it if you motion thumbnails. Two things moving at once.

Hi. Well I tried all the suggestions. And the only way to get the background moving is to click the motion menu button. Movie Factory made that area stupid. I hate Nero but they do allow a moving background and still thumbnails. I want my thumbnail pictures to stay. All I want to have is a motion menu in the back of them. I just have to accept Movie Factory can't do that. I really thought they would improve on that area of the software. I don't think I want to pay $100.00 for software almost like the one I got. Is it hard for them to have three options for the menu. One option for the thumbnail moving. One for just the background moving. And one, which they already have, for both the thumbnail and the background moving. Cripple software. Thanks anyway for trying to help.

I think you are the first person who has mentioned this "missing function"
perhaps you might wish to add it to this link:

To each his own I suppose. Ok for the second effect you can do this in MF7:shadow47 wrote:Is it hard for them to have three options for the menu. One option for the thumbnail moving. ... 1 Select a thumbnail menu.
2 In step 2/3 select a video for your background or
drag a video clip using the add decoration icon.
For the latter you need to re-size the video as required and then use the arrange option to send backward or send to back.
3 Next add an image using the add decoration icon.
4 Drag this clip so that it is inside the borders of the applicable thumbnail.
5 You might have to use an image editor to create an image that has the proper aspect ratios of the thumbnail - else you'll get distortion when fitting it in step 4. Else simply re-size the thumbnail to fit the image.
Better still using a SmartScene menu do the same as above but this time place the image clip near the chapter text and then hide the text. You'll have to experiment with the relative positioning of these two to get the right selection effect. So do your previewing first and once you're happy only hide the text - un-hiding is a bit tricky
