Video Studio X2 / Video Studio X2 Pro , same vers?

Post by brucefl »

At the bottom of the screen it says VS X2,
then VS Pro X2 it looks confusing,
are they the same. Or are they trying to
confuse like 11, and 11.5?

Is it worth the upgrade?
thanks Bruce

Since we have no idea what you have installed, and you give no other information, it is almost impossible to answer sensibly. However, if you have downloaded the trial version, I believe that is the Pro version and is fully functional as such, though it's lacking a wide variety of things like templates etc.

If it is showing Pro in the name somewhere along the line of starting up, then clearly it is Pro. The vanilla version 'X2' will not show 'Pro".

To further confuse you, X2 Pro and X2 Ultimate have the identical Pro version of the Pro program -- the only difference is the third party programs that come with the package.

As for whether it is worth upgrading, only you can make your mind up about that. If you read all the threads here for the past two weeks, you will see a lot of people are very happy with X2 and think it is well worth the upgrade. But others have some problems, and others just say it is not worth upgrading. But that all depends what sort of editing you do, whether you are into high definition video or are likely to be so involved in the near future; whether you use a lot of overlay tracks and always wanted to be able to insert transitions in the overlays etc. Then you are likely to appreciate X2 Pro. But if you just do fairly ordinary edits, don't use overlays, and just want to burn standard definition DVDs, then no it is probably not worth upgrading.

But if you have indeed installed the trial version, that is what it is for! For you to play around with and see whether *you* think it suits your needs!

upgrade

Post by brucefl »

hi
Sorry about that. I have not upgraded yet, or downloaded the trial version. I received an email from Corel, saying I only have so many days to upgrade left. In going to the site, http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... bview=tab0
at the bottom it list those 2 versions. When you click the buy now it just shows x2? not pro.
Though I think I have it figured it out lol after re-reading the information. But where the upgrade to pro is less expensive than just the x2, and I have the most up to date version of 11. I am assuming that I misewell go with pro.
I guess I have to slow down and read the site a little better at times :)
thanks Bruce

Above the Buy Now button are two tabs. make sure you select the correct tab to buy the version you want.

X2 standard - only 2 Video Tracks
X2 Pro - 6 video tracks.
