Hi all,

Pls I want to find out how CNN (Cable Network News) come about these effects they display. While casting their news:

1. A rectangle box will fly in from bottom of the screen with text in it. Withing a few seconds, this goes smaller in size & shift up a bit, then the main news text shows up.

2. Carefully looking at their logo that is always positioned at the extreme top left of the screen, made of redish write up, you will discover intermittent glow/lighting movement inside it: it starts from C & moves on to the remaining two Ns.

3. Watching Larry King Live! A big microphones comes up to precede the subtiltles.

4. If CD or books is to be advertised, u will see the exact/real image of the CD or book showing on the screen: sometimes with addintional effect like turning side ways, rolling, etc.

Pls what Ulead software does these?

B.A.

I would guess that a network as large as CNN not only have their own editing teams but most likely have their own 3D artists, since they use these types of graphics on a daily basis. I would also hazzard a guess that a multi-billion network such as CNN doesn't use VideoStudio for their editing, or Cool 3D for their graphics  . I'd be more inclined to think they use top of the line systems and software that cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Now with that being said, some of the effects you mention can be done with VS or Cool3D, but don't expect the quality to be the same.
1. A rectangle box will fly in from bottom of the screen with text in it. Withing a few seconds, this goes smaller in size & shift up a bit, then the main news text shows up.
Moving Paths. Something that many programs, including MediaStudio Pro, have. But even though it has been requested many times, X2 still does not have this function.
2. Carefully looking at their logo that is always positioned at the extreme top left of the screen, made of redish write up, you will discover intermittent glow/lighting movement inside it: it starts from C & moves on to the remaining two Ns.
A 3D logo could be made in Cool3D, and the lighting could possibly done using one of the Light video filters in VS.
3. Watching Larry King Live! A big microphones comes up to precede the subtiltles.
Again, probably something that could be made in Cool3D.
4. If CD or books is to be advertised, u will see the exact/real image of the CD or book showing on the screen: sometimes with addintional effect like turning side ways, rolling, etc.
Again, a Cool3D project.

Ulead software, you'd need to make your own with things like photo impact, cool3d, these companies will spend a fortune having them made, or some buy in from the likes of digital juice.
