Capturing HD Video

Post by rwalker66 »

I have DVD MF 6. I just bought a Canon Vixia HV30 HD camcorder. I transferred the video to the computer the normal way. That worked fine, it showed the source as "HDV" and it captured fine. I then made a menu and burned it to a DVD. However, the quality looks ugly. It's not clear and there are artifacts, noise, etc. I guess I was spoiled by how good it looked when I connected the HD camcorder directly to the HDTV.

Is it transferring over the video in SD or HD when you use the regular DVD MF program? I thought it must be HDV since it says that as the source and only gives me the option of capturing in MPEG instead of all the options it normally gives me.

Do I need to use the Ulead BD Discrecorder 2.7 program to transfer it over in HD? I tried that and got an error message of "no capture driver is available in the system 13011:2:1". Does anyone know what that means and how to get the capture driver? I don't have a Blu-ray burner, but I am thinking of getting one eventually just to have crystal clear output. But I need to get rid of this error message first if anyone knows how to do that. Thank you.
