X2 -- box or download
Other than having to burn my own CD for backup, is there any reason to buy the boxed version over the download?
Is anything included with the boxed version that is not supplied in the download version?
Also, any reason to purchase the full version over the upgrade version if I already own VS 11+?
Thanks in advance.

You get the handy-dandy manual, and a nice shiney box.

The Upgrade version is the full version -- it just asks for a previous version's serial number to establish that you qualified for the upgrade price!
In the past, the only substantive reason for buying the boxed version over the download/upgrade version was that the boxed version had a handy 'Repair' function built in which meant you did not have to do full uninstalls and reinstalls. I don't know if this has continued with the boxed version of X2.

How long is a piece of string? No one can give a meaningful answer to that. Only you can decide whether the various new features or better ways of handling things in X2 are worth the price to you... Obviously, lots of people on this Board who have already upgrade, including me, think it is worth the prices. Some people don't. So download the trial version and decide for yourself.

I don't know if my downloaded copy of VSX2 Ultimate is the same as other members downloaded versions but it does include a repair option.Ken Berry wrote:The Upgrade version is the full version -- it just asks for a previous version's serial number to establish that you qualified for the upgrade price!

The day after I had ordered Prox2, I received a coupon email from Corelbobfrank wrote:Well, I've got plenty of nice shiney boxes. I'll just have to decide if the handy-dandy manual is worth the $9 shipping charge.Black Lab wrote:You get the handy-dandy manual, and a nice shiney box.
Thanks Black Lab
Thanks also to you Ken for the information.
stating "free shipping" if ordered before 9/30/08. I called Corel & they gave me a $9 credit on my charge card.

For each upgrade I've purchased the boxed version. I like having the little manual and a real disc. It makes it so easy to do a repair or reinstall when I switch computers or hard drives.
