None of my video options work in WinDvd9 Blu-Ray

Post by tastethecourage »

Man, I just spent 150 bucks on a drive and 80 bucks on WinDvd 9 so I could enjoy the extensive video options for Blu-Ray like I have regular DVD's.... and none of those options are available.

They're all grayed out. Every last one of them.

Q6600 @ 2.4
2 gb ram
8800 GT with up to date drivers
Sony Blu-Ray disc drive

Please, any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I just want this to work :(.

I've tried turning off the Hardware Acceleration in the menu, but whenever I start a Blu-ray Movie it checks itself back on automatically, so I can't keep it off. Weird eh?

Edit - Reading the forum I'm seeing similar problems, and NO ONE seems to have the answer as to how to turn off Hardware Acceleration for Nvidia drivers in WinDvd. It turns back on every time.

I am *not* going to turn off hardware acceleration for my entire system -- that's silly. Besides, I just tried that and it still didn't work. WinDvd still re-checked the Hardware Acceleration box. If that is WinDvd technical support's fix I'm going to be pretty fumed I dropped 80 bucks on this product to not have it function because the rest of my computer is functioning normally.

Gah. Why won't it stay off? Normal DVD's are fine. Blu-Ray is the problem.

Update... I've been screwing around on PowerDVD and am having the same problem.

It seems that when I disable Hardware Acceleration, my computer is unable to read Blu-Ray Discs. When it is enabled, I can play them just fine.

Has anyone heard of or experienced this before?
