Adding photos to DVD in 16x9 format

Hi again
Re my earlier query, I have also tried adding some photos to the end of the DVD and have found that, although the panning and zooming on my PC shows everything within the framework when I play the DVD on a wide screen TV I lose heads and feet. Is there some adjustment I need to make when adding these photos?
I have successfully done this previously in 4x3 format with very little loss of the picture edges.
