Changing from a PAL to an NTSC DVD

Post by rallyman2008 »

I'm exporting a PAL Edius project through Procoder 2 and then authoring it in Ulead DVD Workshop 2. If I also want to produce an NTSC version is it better to freshly export it through Procoder as an NTSC m2p file or let DVD workshop do it from my PAL m2p, thus saving me from having to re-produce all my menus etc?

If I were you, I'd let Edius/Procoder do it before you generate MPEG-2 in whichever format your original project used.

As Devil says best results are from converting the original files to an NTSC m2p, then importing into an NTSC workshop project.
That's what I do, using Edius and procoder.

Then remake the dvd menu etc.

As NTSC size is different to PAL, then trying shortcuts like saving the PAL menu and importing it don't look great.

Not cheap, but the full Procoder claims to do it.
