Pro content???

Post by Ormond Williams »

After buying VS X2, the installation went well and I then installed the Bonus content pack. I started the program and had a look for extra content and was pleased with the amount of extra stuff in the resources.
I then installed the Pro content pack and had another look at the resources and there doesn't seem to be anything extra in the resources.

In the folder structure of the Corel section of program files there are some images/masks that have not shown up in the resource window.

Am I missing something I should have done?

Please don't double post. People would answer if they could but no one can see your computer so have no idea what exactly you might have on it!

Hopefully someone with the Pro version will be able to comment on what they got. Unfortunately, I cannot as I downloaded the Ultimate version, and it all came in one huge 1.7 GB ZIP file and all installed at once. So far I have counted something like 97 menu templates (around 30? more than VS11.5+); 21 stock clips on the Video page; 39 files on the audio page, including some useful sound effects (cf. 14 in VS11.5+ which were only music); 28 images; 31 stock titles; 34 objects; 43 frames; and 69 flash animations -- a major increase on VS11.5+...

You should have the same numbers in Pro since, apart from the extra programs (WinDVD 9 cf your WinDVD 8 Silver; and DVD Copy 6 and WaveLab LE 6 which you would not have got), Pro and Ultimate are identical.

Thanks Ken,
Most of my resources are the same as yours.

'Stock clips" - under the 'Video' tab I have 27 items including 5 drawings that appear to have been made with the 'Painting Creator'. You said you had 21.

On going to 'Create' a disc, I seem to only have 24 menu templates. Yours has 97. I would be interested in locating the others.

When I go to Program Files/Corel Video Studio 12/Samples, there are a number of folders of which 'Image' is one. This one contains a number of mask type images (and other images). I am interested in using some of these and I assumed they should have installed into the resources area. I guess I will be able to add them myself anyway.

Thanks for your help!

I can confirm what Ken stated. The content is the same. The only difference is the extra programs..

I have installed all 3 versions on separate partitions to assist with forum matters.
Right clicking the content folders from Windows Explorer shows the following.

Standard = 528 files in 45 folders 141 MB
Pro ........ = 617 files in 51 folders 166 MB
Ultimate. = 617 files in 51 folders 166 MB

Ormond -- regarding that Samples folder, are you sure you haven't checked in the right place in X2 -- in the same drop-down menu as Video, Audio etc, there is one at the bottom called Decoration which, when you click on it gives three sub-sections: Object, Frame (which may be the mask-like images you mention) and Flash Animations...

Thanks for the responses guys!
I was not disputing that I got everything in the download! Just not quite understanding the installation of certain resources.
It may be that Ken's total of the menu templates includes 16:9 ones, which I had not thought of until just now.

I am extremely pleased, so far with this new version.
I use MSPro8 on my desktop at home and now VS12 allows me to use my notebook for editing video too.
I only use a minimal amount of the facilities in these programs, and I love the fact that they are relatively logical and easy to use.

It's great that users of this software have willing and able 'guru's' like you guys to help us.
Thanks to all of you!

Ken,
There are many more 'masks' in the Samples/Images folder than in the 'Frame' section in the resource window. This is indeed a good thing!
