Hi

Been extremely bausy with family and work matters for the last 2 months (excuse out of the way).

Have been patiently waiting for VS12 since I was told I could "upgrade" from VS8 which I use (latter not compatible with Vista) whereas I could not upgrade to 11.5 etc.

Is the Pro X2 a proxy for VS12?

Thanks

Yes...VS X2=VS12

X being the roman number for 10 :)

Just be aware that, depending on where you are, there is a X2 Standard, X2 Pro, and X2 Ultimate.

X2 Standard is like v11 (only 1 overlay track), X2 Pro is similar to the old "+" versions (multiple overlays, etc.), and X2 Ultimate is identical to X2 Pro, but comes with addtional software.

Many thanks

Thanks for the clarification.

Just out of interest do all 3 versions have the same glitch with analogue capture? (unable to capture)

I don't know that anyone has tried all 3 version to confirm, but I would think if they all use the same capture plug-in then any problem would be in all 3 versions.

Thanks again

The only analogue capture glitch is capture from a Sony Digital 8 playing an analogue 8mm or Hi8 tape, via Firewire. All other analogue capture of DV is fine. With capture of mpeg-2 and other formats via USB devices, the same situation as before applies: it depends on the device. And our advice remains the same: use the software which came with the device for capture and open the captured video for editing in X2.
