does L2-Cache and GPU have an influence on VSS11+

Post by MC76 »

Hello,

I'm thinking of buying an Penryn CPU for my Thinkpad.
It's a R61i with a T5250 1,5Ghz 1MB L2-Cache, 4GB Ram and 2 S-ATA HDDs, x3100 GPU and Vista Business.
I'm using VSS11+ and a Canon HDV-1080i HV20 Cam, everything works fine with the exeption of the preview when i have more than one clip in the timeline and i switch to "preview Project".
But i think a little bit more CPU power will help...

Two CPUs are a possible choice:
T8300 2,4Ghz 3MB L2-Cache
T9300 2,5Ghz 6MB L2-Cache

What do you think, does the L2-Cache some Difference in using VSS11+ ?
Uses VSS11+ the hardware acceleration of better graphic cards?

Best Regards
Markus

L2 cache will make the CPU faster in general, which in turn will help VideoStudio. You'll see the most dramatic effect in the encoding stage.
