Burning Speed MF7 Pro
Burning Speed MF7 Pro
When burning a video-DVD I cannot change the burning speed. Normally I want to burn a DVD on the lowest speed available . This gives less chances on burning issues.
But the burning speed is greyed out and automatically set to maximum. I can not change it. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Burning Speed MF7 Pro
A belated reply - Itoo have been frustrated re the the burning speed option being greyed out. Regarding the suggestion of "burning a disc image file" there does not seem to be an option for this on the "burn page" (in contrst to MF6 where there is one). Is this option hidden away some where?

To the right of the Create to Disc, Recording Format box should be a double down-arrow. Click it to expose more options. These options should be Create DVD Folders, and Create Disc Image. The latter would be the one to create an ISO file.

Hi RonP,
Thanks for info - so obvious after being told! My problem related to using a DVD drive with a maximum capability of 22x writing speed however the DVD blanks were only rated for 16x.

Re: Burning Speed MF7 Pro
The dvd drive will check the disc to see what speed it can be burned at, and will only burn a 16x at 16x, so long as you are buying decent discs, where they put the data on the disc for the drive to read.

Re: Burning Speed MF7 Pro
And most of us here -- though not all -- would in any case advise *against* using the maximum rated speed to burn a DVD. Instead, we would recommend you use a much lower speed e.g. for a 22x or 16x, I would use not more than 8x. The idea is that using a lower speed enables the burning laser a little more time to firmly embed the video signal into the disc. That in turn should help a wider variety of reading lasers in stand-along DVD players to be able to read the signal and play it back without problems...

You can't set the burning speed in DVD MF7. I don't know why it's that way in this version.

Re: Burning Speed MF7 Pro
what a pity, what a pity. Lets hope that the next version (if there is going to be one) tackles this problem.
