Problems capturing from DV

I have a problem capturing data from DV. I'm using a Sony mini DV camera with 1394 link on my PC.

Although I've setup the device control to "MS1394" and MSP do recognize the camera, when I try to preview video on it (through the 1394 link) I can't get anything.
Then when I try to capture video using MSP video capture SW, it reports that it can't find any 1394 device.

The thing is that other SW does capture data from the camera. I'm able to use Windows movie maker or Roxio DVD Builder.

Do I need any special driver for MSP? Have anyone seen such problem?

Go into Setup|Device Control|Current Device : MS 1394 Device Control, then click on Options and choose the right Active Device.

Then go into Setup:Switch Capture Plug In|Ulead Direct Show Capture Plug In.

That should then work

Any suggestion for Sony HDR FX1 this is my problem.

removed program again and reinstalled and this time i get closer but when i try to capture the tape plays with a picture on the Sony LCD but not on computer, with the error message 'failed to build capture graph' followed by another screen appearing,

'Please click the <Recapture> button to re-capture any files with errors.
Capture to file: c:\documents and settings\gareth davies\my documents\video capture\vide0003.mpg
Settings: In: 00:04:30:08, Out: 00:04:30:09, normal speed.
Message: Failed to build a capture graph.'

does this help to solve problem, computer hardware setting are fine and works with all other hardware.

Yes Ulead sent me a recent link for new update but still no joy 'MSP7HDVPlugin_E'

I can capture OK in DV mode when setting Sony to output from HDV to DV.

Go to the "HDV PLug" in entry in this forum, the cure is there.
You obvously have SP3 loaded along with SP1 and 2.
Need to completely reload MSP plus SP3 and then HDV Plug in in that order plus re reister one of the programs
Full details in "HDV Plug in" with how to do it without loosing too much
Worked for me
