Album transitions do not work in VSX2
I upgraded to VSX2 and the program is working fine. The only problem I have encountered is that the Album Transitions do not work. They look fine in the thumbnails but when you select them they do not preview in the Preview Window as the rest of them do. I inserted one of them in a small 1 minute clip to see if it would render but I got the error message: Unable to load library [19151.3.3]. I deleted this transition from the Project Time Line and then VSX2 was able to render the clip without a problem
Does anybody else have this problem?
I have and additional question, I downloaded the free transitions from the Burger site but I do not know how to add them to the program. How can I install these transitions?
Thanks!

I have just run two tests with HD footage. I took three short clips at random, all HDV/mpeg-2 format. Added a colour matte at the beginning and end, and inserted randomly chosen, different Album transitions between each. Rendered it to a new HDV file. It was done quickly and the new HDV file plays back smoothly with all the Album transitions functioning perfectly.
Then I did the same thing with short AVCHD clips -- indeed, clips from the problematical Panasonic SD9. Did the same with colour mattes and this time inserting the other Album transitions I had not used in the first test. In other words, with the two tests, I used all 7 of the Album transitions.
Again, rendering to a new AVCHD with the same properties as the original, the rendering went surprisingly quickly. Playback was problematical, which is not surprising since I have previously reported that with SD9 footage, X2 has improved the ability to play back the video for its entirety, though it is still far from perfect. This time, playback of the new file crashed the program.
However, when I inserted the new file in both PowerDVD 8 and WinDVD 9, both rated to play Blu-Ray and AVCHD, the file played perfectly and the Album transitions worked smoothly.
So I am with Ron in expressing pleased surprise that at last the Album transitions seem to work so well and without exception.

Sjj1805, I am working with some HDV clips filmed with a Sony HDR-FX1 but I do not think the clips have something to do with it. The album transitions do not display in the preview pane, this is before even inserting the transitions in the time line so it¡¦s the program itself and this happens in both 4:3 and 16:9 formats. So what randazzo replied may have happened here, or maybe it might have been a corrupted file. (I downloaded the program at work and burned it to a CD so I installed from the CD).
The good thing is that I found a work around, I did copy the file ¡§Album.vfx¡¨ from VS11.5+ into VSX2 and even though the transitions seem sluggish in the preview pane when I click the thumbnail and also in the time line, when previewing the project they are fine in the final output.
Can you now tell me how I can add the burger transitions into the program? I did try copying the transitions in the folder vfx_plug but when I try to open the program I get the error message:
Cannot initialize application.
Unable to open the file %s.
[1915:26:8]
[15034:1:36]
I can open the program once I delete the copied transition file So I know I am not doing something right.
Thanks!

Seems a little odd that you are also having problems with the burger transitions - others have reported that they work fine with VSX2.
Due to work shift patterns, unwanted visitors at home and fixing a relatives broken laptop I have installed but have yet to dabble with VSX2. I shall of course be installing my collection of burger transitions (and a few others) as soon as I get time.
In the meantime my observation is that your problems all relate to transitions album/burger. Perhaps you are looking in the wrong place the VFX_Plug folder. Whilst that might be one of the causes, the other could be in your User Settings here:
c:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\12.0
Replace Stephen with your Windows User name.
The file concerned ends in .DAT and should be easy enough to spot - simply delete it and then restart VideoStudio and it will recreate that library.

Thanks Sjj1805, just to confirm that I am just copying the burger transitions into the folder ¡§vfx_plug¡¨. You say that transitions should work just by doing that?
Regarding the wrong place for the vfx plug folder, the folder that I copy the transitions into is:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio12\vfx_plug
I looked into the file you mention but there are a lot of .dat files so I do not know which one to delete.

I am at my work place at the moment so cannot provide the full name of the particular DAT file. If Ken is still on line perhaps he can identify it for you.
Regarding copying the Burger transitions - yes that is all you need to do, copy them from the previous installation to the new one. when you restart VideoStudio it should detect them and add them to the transitions library.
This is how I have always moved my transitions over to new versions previously including Boris, Hollywood FX etc.
