Lower field first, upper field first ?

Post by Django29 »

Hi.
I have used MSP 7 + HD plugin for 3 years, but I still don't understand how to be sure that the DVD recorded with Movie factory 6, from the mpeg2 file created by MSP, doesn't tremble.
Most of the time I use the mini-DV of my FX1 Sony, that gives, I think, "Lower field first" images.
But this time I use mini-DVD, and I don't know if it is LFF or Upper field first.
Anyway, I have selected LFF in the general parameters of the project in MSP.
I have not change the individual media source option of each file inserted (and I don't know if I have to change them).
Then, in Movie Factory 6, I have selected LFF.

Result : on my TV, connected to my DVD player, the picture trembles.

If somebody could explain me how to do that, without trying 10 times untill it works.
Django (I'm french, sorry for the mistakes).

Salut

Try UFF for all settings.

Thanks : I've tried this solution and now the final picture on the DVD is OK .... but I have no more sound !

The preview in Movie Factory has sound.
The audio parameters on MF are : Audio MPEG, Stereo, 48Khz, 192 Kbps.

I really don't understand.

The sound is back, when I don't use "Normaliser l'audio".

But maybe there's no connection between this change, and the result.

In conclusion, does it mean that the mini-DV tapes are recorded "lower field first", and the mini-DVD are "upper-field first" ?

But when all the sequences are from the same movie-camera, is it necessary to set the choice UFF/LFF/Frame based for each of them, or only in the general Preferences and Project settings ?

If they are all from the same source, the just set the Field Order in the Project Settings.
