Hi,
I'm experiencing this problem. The Audio Editor won't show the "Play", "Stop", buttons. When I clicked on "File -> new", then chose the properties, clicked OK and it showed "Don't send" window.
I tried uninstall and re-installed again, but nothing changed.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
Audio Editor bug?
1. Please read the PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING... thread and comply
2. It is normal that the Play and Stop buttons are greyed out. Until you have something to play, how can you?
3. What Preferences do you have? Make sure you have a mixer.
4. What settings do you choose after selecting New?
5. What happens if you Open on a wav file?

As you have not complied with all the hardware info required see 1. in my 1st post, I can't guess what you have.
Frankly, I don't know what is causing your problem but scraping the bottom of the barrel my first idea would be to check your DirectX. Try Run|dxdiag. My second guess is that you may have a conflicting audio codec.

MediaStudio is now an end of life product with no more versions or service packs. what we have is what we get.
Most of us here don't use the audio Editor but instead use the FREE Audio Editor:
Audacity.
You can export the soundtrack from your video editor as a WAV file. Open the file with Audacity and make powerful alterations, fades, cuts, mixes, clean out unwanted sounds, echoes and a variety of other useful edits. You can then save the cleaned up sound file and then import it back into your video editor.
