Wrong aspect ratio in library and timeline. OK in preview

In Pro X2 trial and in VS11.5+ when I open 1920x1080 16x9 aspect ratio AVCHD clips they play as 16x9 in the preview window and in the discs that I burn, but they appear as 4x3 in the library window and in the timeline/storyboard view.
The appearance in the library and timeline/storyboard is secondary to how they actual preview and burn, so it is not a big deal. Nevertheless they should appear in the right aspect ratio everywhere.
The project properties dialog shows 16x9. Why do these clips appear in the wrong aspect ratio in the library and timeline/storyboard?

I think you are the first to mention this. Perhaps it would be a good idea for 16.9 clips to appear as such in the library and on the time line.

It may have something to do with being able to resize the User Interface..

While it might as well go in the wish list, I have to say it has always been this way in previous versions of VS. The depictions in the library pane are after all only indicative thumbnails so you can see what is on that clip. Ditto in the storyboard. As Steve said, you are the very first person I can think of in all my years on this Board who has ever mentioned this -- which I guess goes to show how important everyone else thinks it is too!

Thanks all. Since I now know that this is normal behaviour for VS, I'll not worry about it.

Well, sort of... Portrait images are clearly shown with large white spaces to right and left. But after that it seems to be anyone's guess. Some stock photos seem to be 4:3 in the preview screen but show as a full thumbnail. Some, which look as though they are widescreen in the thumbnail (i.e. with white above and below), when shown in the preview screen are still 4:3 or thereabouts. Some of my own photos are the same -- they are from one digital camera with a particular format size. Others from another digital camera appear full thumbnail but appear pretty correctly in the preview window...
