cannot import sound from older DVDs

I bought VS 11.5plus and installed it on my XP sp3 system. I have a lot of DVDs I made several years ago by burning our old home VHS movies onto them with an older DVD recorder (no computer used). I want to jazz them up, but when I import the clips they have no audio. I start the process, get the Parsing screen, then Import DVD initialiaztion screen and the sound is fine, but when I actually do the import there is no sound. When I click the Info button, the properties window says NONE for Audio Type. The screen for the parsing says "MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 w/o extension bitstream".

I have a newer DVD recorder that I recently bought and the audio imports fine from those (Dolby audio).

Also if I use an old MovieFactory4 the old DVD audio imports just fine and the screens look just about the same as on my new version of VS.

Any Ideas on how to get VS 11.5 to import the audio on these older DVDs?

Thanks
Holland

Please click here --> Image so that we can then view your system specifications.

Then please begin with this thread:

Can you also look at the older DVD in Windows Explorer or My Computer and tells us what sort of files are on the disc. Does it contain a tree structure with files ending in .vob, .bup and .ifo? Or are they different from that?
